Obesity in pets is very common nutritional disorder nowadays, which is fast drawing the attention of pet owners. Obesity is defined as an increase of over 20% above the ideal body weight. Factors like over feeding, availability of highly palatable, energy dense pet foods and treats and lack of exercise have been identified as the reasons leading to the condition. Obesity in pets is a matter of great concern which can lead to problems like high blood pressure, skin issues, increased risk of diabetes mellitus and many more diseases.

  • Visit your Vet: Consult a veterinarian and discuss the options for resetting your pet’s metabolism. You also need to monitor your pet’s weight once a week to know how well are you doing in maintaining your pet’s health.
